The Academy for Co-operative Management, Research & Training (ACMART) was established in the year 2001 under the management of West Bengal State Cooperative Bank Ltd with active support from the State Govt, NABARD, academicians and activists in the cooperative movement in the State. The Academy is accredited by Center for Professional Excellence in Cooperatives (C-PEC), BIRD, Lucknow since June, 2011 and also awarded THIRD Best Agriculture Cooperative Staff Training Institute by National Council for Cooperative Training, New Delhi.
Since effective training arrangements is a continuous process to
(i) refurbish skill
(ii) update knowledge
(iii) imbibe positive motivation and
(iv) develop a sense of empathy among the functionaries
ACMART is committed to provide quality training to the human resources of the cooperative banking organization. The Academy is conducting mostly C-PEC approved training programmes on topical interest depending on varied needs of the customer banks apart from the training programmes sponsored by BIRD, Bolpur and Lucknow and other Institutes according to their demand and availability of slots. The Academy also engage themselves in various research activities, consultancy and information up gradation.
The Academy is located at Bidhan Nagar Poura Bhavan, 415A, FD Block, Sector-III, Salt lake, Kolkata-700103. Apart from one Director’s Room and one Faculty Room the Institute is having 1 AC Class Room fitted with projector, audio-visual system with capacity to accommodate 40 participants and a well equipped AC Library Room with rich collection of books on banking law & practice, finance, behavioural science, management and organization development. The hostel rooms at the Academy has the capacity to accommodate 30 participants on twin sharing basis and 5 AC Guest Rooms fitted with all modern amenities. It also has 2 AC Class rooms for conducting Computer courses. The entire area of the Institute is connected with wi-fi internet services.
ACMART is headed by a Director with wide experience in the area of Banking & Finance. The Faculty Members engaged in the Academy are mostly practical bankers with specialized knowledge in banking, finance, economics, project appraisal and behavioural science.
Over the years, the institute has developed expertise in imparting quality training and conducting on-location customized bank specific programmes. On an average the institute trains about 800 cooperative personnel through in-house and on-location programmes.
The training methodology used is participatory in nature, case study based and field oriented. Field visit and group discussion is a part of the training programmes.
